Welcome to my web page! If you appreciate wilderness and backpacking, I'm hoping you'll like this artwork, from some of Idaho's most remote landscapes.

If you have an idea for a painting, let me know. I enjoy doing commissions for folks who love the outdoors.

Artist Statement

Alpine Bay. This 24x36 is a knife oil painting on canvas, of a lake bay in the Salmon River Mountains.

Middle Fork. The inspiration for this oil painting was a September 2006 rafting trip with my buddies.

Flower Island. A set of flowers surrounded by
a sea of grass in the high country near McCall, Idaho.

Hard Rock. Watercolor, ink, salt, and scraped. This 24x30 painting was Inspired by overlapping shale along the trail.

Split Pine. This 16x20 painting was inspired by a split Ponderosa snag; it is watercolor and ink, scraped using a limited palette.

Hyde Park. This little oil was done as a plein aire painting using a single painting knife.
For a 10x12 painting, it took forever to finish.

Owyhee. The Leslie Gulch area of eastern Oregon inspired this 24x36 oil. It's a view from the campsite.

Warm Granite Watercolor, ink, and salt inspired by granite rock in sunlight
Bruneau. This 3'x4' painting was done for my river guide friend Steve Jones who wanted a view looking downriver from our whitewater adventure on the Bruneau. Painting knives, brushes, and thick oil paint on canvas. Pistol Peak. This watercolor and ink was painted on site, as a study, near the Middle Fork of the Salmon River, after a friend and I had hiked 15 miles down Camas Creek.
